iPhone rumors

It’s expected that the Apple will release the 3.0 software at the World Wide Developers Conference on June 8th (no Jobs, but Phil Schiller will be doing the keynote). Having a few friends and colleagues who have started developing for the iPhone — I’ve actually got to play with the beta a bit. I must say, as nice as cut and paste is, the search is my favorite new feature. Being able to search through emails, contacts and anything else on my phone is way nice (and one of the main features I missed when I first got the phone last year).
The real question http://hp-keren.blogspot.com/ is — will new hardware be announced at the same time? Some of the big rumors surrounding video recording (that it will only work on new hardware) point to it coming soon — and has sparked a flurry of rumors to go with it.read more

Where Next for Nokia Nseries

The Nseries range is starting to look a bit tired, truth be told. There are many areas where Nokia are going to have to make improvements if Nseries can still be considered top of the class when it comes to multimedia, otherwise they risk falling far behind the competition and becoming just also rans. First thing that needs to be addressed is the camera. For a long time now, the standard camera on an Nseries device is 5.0 megapixel with autofocus, and Carl Zeiss optics. Which, in itself, is ok I guess. But other manufacturers are offering so much more; why no face detection, smile detection, blink detection? No image stabilisation? Why not something like Best Pic which Sony Ericsson have been offering on their Cybershot phones for years! With other devices offering cameras with so much more in terms of features, the camera on NSeries is starting to look a bit tired in comparison.

LG KS-20 smartphone

Nowadays, whenever any cellphone maker other than Apple, is getting ready with a new cell phone that comes with iPhone-like or better features will be considered as a iPhone challenger. Whether you like it or not, the LG KS-20 smartphone is deemed as LG’s new effort to challenge the iPhone, after LG’s few previous attempts such as the LG Prada etc. The LG KS-20 has a very clean and uncluttered candybar design, which makes it look like a luxurious baby. The front panel comes with only three buttons, for main calling functions only. As the LG KS-20 smartphone is equipped with a 2.8 inch touchscreen, which is the basic need to be qualified as an iPhone challenger. Besides, it has a stylus for the touchscreen. The phone comes loaded with Windows Mobile 6 OS, which is clear an attempt aiming those business class who prefer a smartphone with the Windows Mobile environment. The KS-20 is also equipped with wireless connectivities such as WLAN, which is quite common in almost every smartphone these days. And of course, high-speed Internet connectivity that rides on the HSDPA. The phone also supports Bluetooth 2.0 and the memory expansion can be via the microSD card slot. The camera of this guy is definitely much behind with today’s high-end cellphones from other makers. The phone has a 2-megapixel camera only. Other than the LED flash that comes with the camera, the megapixels that it carries is simply disappointing to many of us. Overall the features seem to be qualified as a iPhone challenger except the camera. Read More..

Smartphone as a fashion product

The cell phone has also become a fashion product lately with which you want to show off. Or as Paul Wilkens, Sales & Marketing director of the telecom department of Samsung Electronics Benelux, nicely put it into words during an introduction in London recently: "The consumer that takes his cell phone from his inside pocket and places it next to his cappuccino, is making a statement about himself." This trend has obviously added to the appearance and design of today's smartphones as they look better and more modern nowadays. Read More..

Smartphone

Cell phones are offering more functionalities every day. A growing crowd seems to consider calling less important than being able to use email, Internet, digital camera and navigation possibilities. The consumer seems mature enough now for the smartphone, or the multimedia computer as Nokia likes to refer to it, and for a good reason. The Nokia Communicator, the mother of all smartphones has had some transformation during the eleven years of its existence. The device was already years ahead to start with. Still it remained a device tailored to the needs of the business user. Moreover; the first devices were rather heavy as far as weight was concerned and they were not the cheapest ones you could lay your hands on.• Read our full report about Read More..
